Major: Topics in all periods of United States naval history will be considered, as well as all aspects, including operations, biography, technology and science, strategy and tactics, administration, social, diplomacy, etc.

Amount: A stipend of $10,000 for the fellowship year (September 2007- June 2008) will be provided in two payments. The first half of the grant will be paid in September 2006. The second half will be paid in January 2008, upon certification that satisfactory progress had been made since October. The award of the grant will depend on the continuing availability of funds.

Requirements:
Applicants must be citizens of the United States; enrolled in a recognized graduate school; have completed requirements for the Ph.D. except the dissertation by June 30, 2007; and have an approved dissertation topic in the field of U. Amount: $5,000

Requirements:
Applicants must be active duty commissioned officer of the U.S. Navy or U.S. Marine Corps with demonstrated leadership potential and high academic qualifications who is already pursuing graduate study in history, international relations, or a related field. The award will help pay for expenses related to research, travel, and the purchase of books or other educational materials. Applications must include:

The Director of Naval History will make the final selection of the Morison Scholar and an alternate by August 15, annually.

Amount: The Naval Historical Center provides no salaries or other stipends to interns. If the center's funds permit, small honoraria may be paid to interns. If available and appropriate, these honoraria will average about $20.00 per day and will be limited to a total of $400 for each intern.
