Requirements:
The COTWD awards this scholarship annually to the one Texas high school senior with a disability who has written the most compelling essay describing how their leadership skills have enhanced the lives of persons with disabilities in the community.

Students must submit five (5) copies of a 1,000 word, double-spaced essay entitled, "How My Leadership Has Enhanced the Lives of Persons with Disabilities." The student's name, high school name, and high school phone number should be on a separate sheet; only the student's initials should appear on the top right corner of the essay.

Applicants must currently reside in Texas and attend high school in Texas. Applications should be mailed to the name and address above. Award recipients will be notified by April 16, 2003.
